Kematian Gajah di Aceh Diselidiki

BANDA ACEH, KOMPAS.com - Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam masih menyelidiki kematian empat ekor gajah di Kabupaten Aceh Jaya dan Aceh Timur beberapa waktu lalu.

"Tim sedang bekerja untuk menyelidiki kematian empat ekor gajah, masing-masing dua ekor jantan dan betina pada Mei dan Juni 2012 di dua lokasi terpisah di Aceh," kata Kepala BKSDA Abubakar Cekmad di Banda Aceh, Jumat (8/6/2012).

Hal tersebut disampaikan menanggapi kematian empat ekor gajah yang diduga diracun di kawasan pedalaman di dua kabupaten di provinsi ujung paling barat Indonesia itu.

Ia mengatakan, tim terpadu yang melibatkan instansi terkait telah mengambil sampel dari empat ekor gajah sumatera yang mati di dua wilayah itu.
