Teknik Pakan Hewan ( Animal feed Technology)

Teknik pakan hewan dilakukan dengan rekayas tertentu, dengan tujuan untuk meningkattkan efisiensi pakan, meningkatkan nilai gizi, meningkatkan palatabilitas, meningkatkan daya cerna, dan menurunkan zat-zat anti nutrisi. Rekasasa tertentu biasanya dilakukan dengan cara
1.  fisik,
2.  kimia,
3.  biologis,
4.  merubah bentuk dan ukuran serta 
5.  penambahan zat tertentu untuk meningkatkan kandungan nutrisi pakan.

Eksperimen pakan.
evaluasi pakan dilakukan berdasarkan 1. digestion 2. metabolism 3. economic factor dan dilakukan pada hewan.
Indikator yang digunakan dalam eksperimen pakan (dilakukan pada hewan) diantaranya
1. Palatability
2. Konsumsi pakan
3. Produksi (berat badan, produksi telur, ect)
4. Digestibility
5. Feed convertion
6. Economis factor

Metode Eksperimen Pakan berdasarkan
1. Tipe Pakan
2. Rasio Formula - percobaan pakan
                             - Membandingkan 2 rasio formula pakan
3. Persentase pakan 5% 10% 15%


Condition to make ration experiment :
1.Determine the ration’s feedstuff
2.Analyze the nutrition value
3.Make formula as needed
4.Mix homogenously
5.DM value – nearby
   (resemble)

FEED EXPERIMENTS
1.Lab. Animal as a model :
  - Practical and Cheap
  - Shorter time
  - Easier controlling individual variation
2. Direct to certain animals


PURIFIED DIET
Feed experiment to Laboratory Animals to know the nutrition effects :
•Protein ----------- Casein
•CH ---------------  Dextrose
•Starch -----------  Sucrose
•Vitamin ---------- Crystal Compound
•Fat ---------------  Plant oil / Lard
•Mineral ---------- Chemical salt

Factors which must be paid attention to :
Feeding strategy : individually or in group
•Feedstuff / ration effects
•Animals must be almost same
•Proximate analysis : feces – CP digest – kept in freezer
ad libitum feeding or limited (controlled)
Adaptation period : 1 –2 weeks
First feeding – step by step
Daily Weight Gain – weighting – before consuming feed/drink or defecation
Carcass – before slaughtering – fasted
Egg & milk Production – have to be known : peak & down production phase
Proximate Analysis – DM must stable (exp. Field grass – 65oC)
